Tranmere secured an impressive 3-0 win over fellow strugglers Forest Green Rovers at Prenton Park to move out of the League Two relegation places.

The home side took the lead in the eighth minute when Tyrese Omotoye appeared to deflect the ball into his own net from a corner after Jordan Turnbull's initial header looked to be going wide.

Tranmere had further chances, with Rob Apter and Brad Walker going close before half-time, while Forest Green's best opportunity fell to Omotoye whose looping header was clawed away by Luke McGee.

Rovers eventually doubled their lead just two minutes after the break when Kristian Dennis calmly slotted the ball home from the edge of the area.

The visitors' cause was made all the more difficult when Dom Bernard was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for a deliberate handball.

Making the most of their numerical advantage, Tranmere did not let up, with Luke Norris twice going close before Apter made the game safe with 20 minutes remaining.
