Alloa Athletic 2-1 Queen of the South: Hosts close gap at bottom

  • Published

Scottish Championship bottom side Alloa Athletic put the brakes on Queen of the South's mini-revival by beating them at the Indodrill Stadium.

Queens, who had won three of their last four games, took the lead with Middlesbroough loanee Isaiah Jones scoring on his debut.

Andy Graham equalised for Alloa while Queens had a man down with an apparent head injury.

And Kevin Cawley second-half goal closed the gap on Queens to three.

Goalkeeper Neil Parry made a brilliant save from an Ayo Obileye header 10 minutes from time to preserve Alloa's advantage and secure a first win in six attempts.
