FA Cup: Luton Town 1-0 Reading highlights

George Moncur's first-half volley was enough to send Luton into the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2013 as they edged out Reading.

The sides made 18 changes between them from their last Championship fixtures, resulting in a very disjointed tie.

It was settled by Moncur, who met James Bree's high cross from the right at the back post with a right-boot side-foot finish into the bottom-right corner.

Sone Aluko came closest to an equaliser but struck the bar in the second half.

Nahum Melvin-Lambert also struck a post for the visitors deep into stoppage time after being played in by fellow substitute Dejan Tetek.

It would have been just reward for Reading who were much improved after the break but they found Luton goalkeeper Simon Sluga in fine form.

The pick of his saves came with 15 minutes remaining as he pulled off a sharp double stop.

He first got down quickly to keep out Sam Baldock's well-struck effort from 20 yards before bravely smothering the rebound from Jayden Onen.
