How do I sign in to ±«Óãtv Sounds on my TV?

Before you start...

Make sure you've got:

  • A ±«Óãtv account. You can use your existing one. If you don't already have a ±«Óãtv account, register by going to .
  • A second device, such as a mobile, tablet or computer. This is where you'll enter the code shown on your TV.

Please to your ±«Óãtv account on the website to make sure that you know your sign-in details. If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it here: .

Ready? Here's what you need to do.Ìý

Open the ±«Óãtv Sounds application on your TV. You'll see the sign in screen. To switch the language to Welsh, select 'Dangoswch opsiynau yn Gymraeg' on the top right.Ìý

Select 'Sign in.'

You'll see a screen with a URL and a six-digit code. You'll need these to sign in.Ìý

On your mobile/tablet/computer, open your internet browser andÌýgo to bbc.com/tvcode. You'llÌýsee a screen on your mobile/tablet/computer advising you to enter the six digit code shown on your TV.

Next, you'll be asked toÌýconfirm your account details, so enter your email address and password and select Sign in.Ìý

Wait a few seconds for your TV to catch up, then you're done! You're now signed in on your TV.

Some things to be aware of

  • If you don't use the activation code, it will expire after 60 minutes so you'll need to start again.Ìý
  • Only one person can use the activation code. If two or more people try to use the same code, it won't work.Ìý
  • If you see a message saying, "Sorry, something isn't working right now. Please try again later," that means we're having technical issues. Please do try again later.Ìý
  • If your computer/phone/tablet advises that you're signed in, but your TV doesn't change, or it asks you to sign in again,Ìýplease run through our TV troubleshooting steps as these may help.
  • Sign-in isn't available on all TVs. That's because we're just rolling out ±«Óãtv Sounds on connected TVs. Check the Can I use ±«Óãtv Sounds on my TV? page for more information about ±«Óãtv Sounds on connected TVs.Ìý
  • If you want to sign in on more than one TV, follow the same procedure with those devices. You'll be given a code linked to that particular device. You can sign in to as many TV devices as you need.
  • If you'd like to sign an additional account in on your TV, follow the same process. Each new user will need their own ±«Óãtv account.

What if I don't have a mobile, tablet or computer?Ìý

It isn't possible to sign in to ±«Óãtv Sounds on connected TVs without first signing in to a second device.
