The ±«Óãtv uses technologies similar to website cookies to measure audiences for our services on connected TVs. Information about how you use ±«Óãtv Sounds app will be stored on your TV and securely on ±«Óãtv servers.


Your bookmarked programmes

When you bookmark something on any of the other Sounds platforms, this information will be stored on the ±«Óãtv servers to allow you to access your list from multiple devices including the TV platform (e.g. via the ±«Óãtv Sounds website.)


Playback position, completion and Recommendations

When you play something in ±«Óãtv Sounds we store your history and your progression through programmes on ±«Óãtv Servers. This allows you to pick up where you left off on different platforms.

We also use this information to recommend to you programmes in the Recommendations module found on the Listen page in the ±«Óãtv Sounds app.


Analytics

The app uses technologies similar to performance cookies for internal purposes to help us give you a better experience in line with the ±«Óãtv's Privacy and Cookies Policy: .

You can switch this off using the Share Statistics toggle on the ±«Óãtv Sounds Mobile app or Web App Settings screen (select the cog icon within My Sounds). This setting is not currently available on the TV app.

We also collect the TV Brand and Model you use so we know which are our high reach devices.


Other information stored on your device

To give you the best ±«Óãtv Sounds app experience, this information may be stored on your device:

  • Your signed in credentials (local certificates which are required as part of the sign in process);
  • Resume positions for programmes you’re currently listening to (on the same device);
  • Whether you’ve confirmed that you’re aged 16 years or over;
  • Whether you’ve dismissed in-app messages like suggested app upgrade messages, warnings about network provider charges or TV Licence messages;
  • Cookie values to remember whether you are signed in;
  • A cookie value for promotions so that you only see them once.


What happens if you delete the app?

By uninstalling the app, all ±«Óãtv Sounds app data stored on your device will be removed.
