Biography
Andrew is a Principal Technologist within ±«Óătv R&D’s . He has a background in video compression and image processing. Andrew and his team are responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the ±«Óătv’s acquisition, production, playout and IP distribution systems. Most recently their work has focused on , as Andrew is one of the developers of the Hybrid Log-Gamma HDR system.
Andrew joined ±«Óătv Research in 1987 after graduating from the University of Oxford with a BA in Engineering Science. He spent 7 years in industry working for a leading broadcast equipment manufacturer but returned to the ±«Óătv in 2002. Andrew won the IBC2015 Conference Prize with colleague Tim Borer for .
