As 2015 draws to a close, we asked our technologists: What do you know now that you didn't know this time last year?

±«Óãtv Research & Development is an amazing place to work. The people here are smart, dedicated and above all else have a passion for learning in all its forms.

Sometimes the people can get lost in amongst the various strata of project names, sections and acronyms, so we thought we'd try and bring the technologists, engineers and research scientists who make ±«Óãtv Research & Development what it is back to the fore.

To that end we went around our three labs in London and Salford and asked people one simple question:

"What do you know now that you didn't know this time last year?"

The answers show the breadth of expertise in the department and how committed R&D staff members are to using that knowledge for the benefit of the ±«Óãtv and its audiences.

So while you're relaxing over the festive period (hopefully enjoying some ±«Óãtv TV, radio and online content while you're doing it) we'd like to leave you with one piece advice that is the bedrock on which this amazing department is built:

Never stop learning.

Merry Christmas.
