Tonight at 9pm the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow kick off with the . Two weeks of intense competition featuring some of the best athletes in the world will be launched with a spectacle designed to celebrate the unity of the Commonwealth and the shared values of its people.

±«Óãtv R&D engineers set up a UHD camera and capture system
Throughout the course of the games ±«Óãtv R&D engineers will be working with professional freelance production crews to capture the games in UHD - a new television format with twice the resolution of HD. One of the first results of that collaboration will be UHD screenings of the opening ceremony available to the public.
