Ìý Judy Leden Friday 23 May 2003 Ìý
Judy Leden is a three times world champion microlight flyer. Interviewed earlier this year on Woman's Hour, she mentioned she was planning a very special birthday treat for Sir Nicholas Winton. He was knighted in January for rescuing nearly 700 Czech Jewish children in 1939. He brought them to new homes in Britain on specially commandeered trains.

Judy's father was one of the 'Winton chidlren' as they became known. She was delighted to give Nicky a spectacular treat for his 94th birthday - a spin in her microlight. It made Nicky the oldest person to fly in a microlight and raise money for one of his favourite charities, Abbeyfield Houses for older people.
Judi Herman joined some of the Winton Children at White Warden airfield in Berkshire to cheer on the intrepid pair.
