Child on a tricycle
When is it okay to leave children on their own?

From time to time another shocking headlineÌýappears about irresponsible parents disappearing on holiday and leaving their children behind. But what about the rest of us? Would you leave an eight-year-old in the house while you went to the corner shop? Would you leave a 12-year-old in charge of a six-year-old? Jane is joined by Eileen Hayes, parenting advisor for the NSPCC, and by the author Amanda Craig.
