Race And Education

Class or race? Which factor affects educational performance more for Black Britons?

Is race or class the biggest determinant when looking at educational achievement amongst Black Britons?
We will explore whether there’s bias in the education system, or if the outcome is due to socio economic background.
To do this we will examine what is a disparity between black African and black Caribbean young people which shows very different outcomes and how it compares to White Britons whose own position also fluctuates.

This investigation is taken on by mum of two, and data journalist Leoni Robertson who is eager to find out how best to equip her children on their journey through school.
She will explore areas including the school curriculum, Critical Race Theory and classism in a bid to answer the question herself.
