The online video platform YouTube has won a battle over copyright in a top EU court. The ruling said online platforms are not liable for users uploading unauthorised works, unless the platforms fail to take quick action to remove or block the content. Nina O'Sullivan is an intellectual property lawyer at Mishcon de Reya, and explains what the ruling actually means for the firm.
