Thai Princess Seeks Election As Prime Minister

This is an unprecedented move in the country’s history

The Thai king's eldest sister, Princess Ubolratana, is running for prime minister in next month's election. She will be one of the candidates competing against the country’s army chief who made himself prime minister after overthrowing the last elected government in 2014.

Just over a week to go before Nigerians elect a president, we try to find out why female candidates have struggled to make it past the primaries.
