49. September - Wormery Winnings and Planning Ahead

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley

Down to earth advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley.
As the days get cooler it's time to prepare the wormeries ready for the winter months. Terry explains how much vegetable waste he tops the wormeries up with through the season and how hard the worms work to produce around twelve bags of quality compost.
As the vegetables are harvested and bare ground appears it's a good time to plan ahead for next season. Terry explains the four crop rotation method he uses to plan his plot and the different treatment he uses to prepare the soil approriately for the crops that will be grown there.
