Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
Fridays on 'Round Midnight sound a little different, featuring in depth conversations, live sessions and mixtapes. This time, Soweto welcomes Brazilian singer-songwriter and guitarist Joyce Moreno, to curate a special blend of her favourite pieces.
Over a career that stretches back more than 50 years, Joyce has recorded hundreds of songs, been nominated for multiple Latin Grammy awards, and was even called 'one of the greatest singers' by the Godfather of modern Brazilian music, Antônio Carlos Jobim. Ahead of a London performance at The Jazz Cafe on September 8th, Joyce pulls out tracks from the likes of June Christy, Bill Evans and João Gilberto - as well as a classic of her own.
