Each day in Sudan - not unlike Gaza or Ukraine - brings a new horror involving civilians. The RSF are General Hemedti's Rapid Support Forces which have been battling the Sudanese army led by General Burhan for control of Sudan. The RSF also stand accused of carrying out a massacre on Wednesday in central Sudan in which at least a hundred and fifty people were feared to have died. It's a conflict that has torn the country apart. The United Nations is now saying that that the number of internally displaced people could soon exceed ten million. Declan Walsh and Ivor Prickett of the New York Times spent three weeks traveling in Sudan, which has been closed to most foreign journalists since the war began. They both spoke to Luke Jones and Declan began first by sharing his thoughts on his previous trip, which was about ten days before the current war began, and what struck him back then.
