On October 26th, 2021, only devoted followers of Australian soccer would have known who Josh Cavallo was.

Twenty-four hours later, the Adelaide United footballer was the name on the lips of almost everyone in world football after he became the first top-flight male professional to come out while still playing.

Since then, life has been a bit of a whirlwind for Josh – and we’re delighted we finally have the chance to sit down with him for a cracking episode of the podcast.

We talk about his love of the game and where it came from; deciding to share his story and the support he received from former podcast guest Thomas Beattie; telling his teammates about his sexuality, and then the world; the abuse he still gets and how he deals with it; and the goals for the rest of his career – honestly, this is one you have to hear.
