Marguerite discovers that Adolphe has syphilis, and Inspector Jouin finally identifies the body in the Bois de Boulogne. On learning that the dead man is linked to the unsolved murder of a lawyer, Cochefert assigns Jouin to the case. Meanwhile, troubled by the Dentrement case, LĂ©pine considers resigning.
