A 13-year-old dog was almost killed after being attacked by a German Shepherd in Waingroves but Derbyshire Police said no action was taken because no offence had been committed. The Dangerous Dogs Act states it鈥檚 a criminal offence if a dog attacks a person or an assistance dog, but it doesn鈥檛 extend to pet dogs or other animals.

The dog鈥檚 owner, Angie Mortimer from Horsley Woodhouse, wants to see the law change. Dog training instructor Claire Lawrence agrees, she鈥檚 been speaking to 鲍鱼tv Radio Derby鈥檚 Andy Twigge.
