Violence against women costs humanity 2% of global GDP

A report by the United Nations indicates that women and girls in Africa are at greater risk of being killed by their intimate partners or other family members. In South Africa, recent crime statistics by the police service indicate that close to 11,000 rape cases were reported between July and Sep 2022. Dr. Maxime Houinato, the Regional Director, UN Women for East and Southern Africa joined Grace Kuria in an insightful discussion.
