The suitcase murderer

They were friends and devout Christians. Now, Jemma Mitchell has been sentenced to life for the murder of Mee Kuen Chong for what the judge said was a profoundly shocking crime.

The ±«Óãtv's Helena Wilkinson has been following this case from the start. As an experienced news correspondent she's reported on many high profile crime cases. This one, in particular, has made a mark because of the chilling nature of the crime and the demeanour of the woman convicted of her friend's murder. Almost a year and a half after murdering Mee Kuen Chong and decapitating her body, Jemma Mitchell has been given life with a minimum term of 34 years. Jemma Mitchell, who's 38, killed the 67-year-old - also known as Deborah - at the older woman's home in London and dumped her body in Devon. Speaking at the Old Bailey, Judge Richard Marks KC described Mitchell as "devious" and said there was no doubt she had carried out the murder for gain. In this episode of 5 Minutes On, Helena Wilkinson takes us through the key moments of what the judge said was a "profoundly shocking" crime by a woman who showed "no remorse" and was "in complete denial".
