The Czech Republic has banned Russian tourists travelling on Schengen visas, following in the footsteps of Finland, Poland and the Baltic states.

Jaroslav Kurf眉rst is the Czech Deputy Minister for Europe. He told Newsday: 鈥淲e believe it will put pressure on the Russian government to stop the war鈥�There is a window for the people who are鈥�democratic dissidents or those people who are threatened by persecution. We have always maintained the possibility of humanitarian visas.鈥�

However, he went on to warn that Russians fleeing mobilisation will not be allowed entry: 鈥淢any of them just put off from their car the letter Z, which is expressing their consent with the mobilisation鈥�these people will not be allowed in.鈥�
