Building starts on controversial Rivenhall incinerator

Heavy machinery is now being moved onsite so building work can begin on a controversial waste plant in North Essex - the Rivenhall incinerator

Earlier this week on Tuesday, the first of a number of large vehicles containing a piling rig made it through nearby villages to the site - the first of five such loads.

The plant will burn processed waste that can't be recycled to generate electricity, but people living nearby are worried about pollution and say it will stop moves to more recycling

±«Óãtv Essex speaks to John Ahern, Indaver’s UK Business Development Director, and Councillor James Abbott, Green district councillor for Silver End and Cressing ward where the trucks have been going through.
