Organization in Kenya tackling language deprivation of deaf children

The journey to inclusion for persons with impartial hearing within the African setting continues to be an emotive issue. In Kenya, statistics show that more than two hundred thousand children have hearing impairments and only 10 percent of these children are enrolled in school due to the stigma associated with deafness. As a result, Nancy Wagi, a young woman from Kenya’s Capital, Nairobi, started her journey of tackling language deprivation through early sign language exposure to Deaf children through her organization. Here is her story.
