A day in the life of a midwife.

We know them for helping mothers bring babies to life. They are the first to hear the babies cry and to tend to a woman’s need when she is most vulnerable. But that’s not all that they do and have raised their voices to their needs being heard too. A recent report released by the white ribbon alliance documented voices from both male and female midwives on what needs to be done to make them perform better at work and therefore reduce maternal and infant mortality. Saida Swaleh spoke to Naomi and prepared the following report.
