"For twenty minutes, I can tell you my heart was pounding!" - Richard Parks tells us about the NCI Charlestown Lookout station

When it comes to keeping us safe at sea, we all know about the work that's done by the Coastguard and the RNLI.

But there is another service, relying on the kindness of volunteers, that helps to keep us all safe when we're in the water.

The NCI - or National Coastwatch Institution - which has 13 stations around the Cornish coastline, from Boscastle to St Agnes to Bass Point to Rame Head.

Our weekend presenter Jack Murley has been finding out more from Richard Parks - Station Manager at the NCI Station in Charlestown.
