Jaffna's rise from the rubble

Jaffna is a region of Sri Lanka with a troubled past that's hoping to produce its first international cricketer.

The Jaffna peninsular was isolated from the rest of the country during the civil war that raged for more than 25 years, with cricket one of the many aspects of life to suffer.

But now, the owners of the Jaffna Stallions T20 team are hoping to establish the sport in the region via the medium of the country's first ever franchise league.

Jaffna Stallions chief executive Arnandan Arnold tells Isabelle Westbury how the launch of the Lanka Premier League can benefit the whole city.
