Test umpire Michael Gough has earned plaudits from players, commentators and fans for his remarkable accuracy on DRS calls and calmness under pressure over the international summer in England.

Since 2018, Gough is the only umpire with a correct rate of more than 90 percent on DRS calls in Tests. His success rate is 92.54. The next best is Kumar Dharmasena, at 78.75, followed by Ian Gould at 77.35.

An Gough says his umpiring success has made up for not putting enough effort into his playing career and he shares some of the rather unusual secrets to his impressive performances this year.
