'Der FreischĂĽtz' (or 'The Free Hunters') is Weber's most performed opera, with music rich in hunting horn melodies and horse-driven rhythms. At first dark and ominous, then breakneck and turbulent, this overture announces to the audience we're in for a hell of a ride.
