I Raise Money for Charity through Art

After graphic designer Chris Whyte’s father passed away, he was inspired to set up Chariso Press, a not-for-profit art project that helps artists raise money for charity.

Christopher Whyte is a graphic designer living in Glasgow, who has combined his profession with honouring the memory of his dad. He set up Chariso Press, a not-for-profit project that helps artists raise money for charity through limited print runs, starting close to home by selling his own art in aid of the cancer charity that cared for his dad. The project has now published six runs with 100 per cent of the profits going to six different charities chosen by the artists. 'It’s not just me that runs it. I’ll produce one print normally for each run, then other people will devote their time to create work.'

The current run is being produced by studio Ilka and Four Twenty Seven for mental health charity Tiny Changes - set up in memory of Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison.
