Ai Weiwei: UKâs Huawei decision âshort-sightedâ
The decision to allow Huawei to provide a limited amount of technology for the UKâs 5G network is âshort-sightedâ, the Chinese dissident artist Ai Weiwei has said.
The company is a âstate run, a military type of a company which can have a potential danger to Western security, UK security,â he told ±«Óătv Hardtalkâs Stephen Sackur.
Huawei has always denied it would assist the Chinese government in helping it spy on one of their clients.
The firmâs founder has said he would rather âshut the company downâ rather than take part in such activities.
