Sunday Gardening Events

Sunday 21st October
Hole Park on Benenden Road in Rolvenden are open again this Sunday - go along and enjoy their spectacular autumn colour and exotic borders, including the late flowering agapanthus 'Hole Park Blue'. It's open between 11 and 6 every Sunday throughout October.

Monday 22nd October
The next meeting of Dover Flower Club is at Whitfield Village Hall at 7.15 p.m.
This evening will be a Workshop where we will be making Floral Lanterns.
Cost for visitors is £6.

The Island Greenfingers Club next meeting is at 7.30 pm held at St. Peters Church Hall, Hopeville Avenue, St. Peters, BROADSTAIRS.
The speaker Mark Negin's topic is "MONTEFIORE SYNAGOGUE".

Tuesday 23 October
Strood Gardening Club meet at 1.30pm at Strood Working Mens' Club, North Street, Strood
The topic is to be "In the footsteps of Paddington" and the speaker is Sue Shaw.
Non members are welcome to come along at a charge of £3 - which includes tea and biscuits!

HERNE BAY FLOWER ARRANGEMENT SOCIETY meets at St. Bartholomew's Church, King Edward Avenue, Herne Bay, Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Visitors are welcome, fee per visit is £5. For a National demonstrator the visitor fee is £7. Refreshments plus a raffle where the prizes are one of the many displays produced by the demonstrator. This month Brenda Eyers will be presenting her demonstration 'The Delights of Autumn'

Thursday 25th October
The next meeting of the Ash Horticultural Society is in Ash Village Hall at 7.15pm for their Annual General Meeting. It will be followed by a demonstration by Emily Stone of her Copper Creatures, there will also be sculptures for sale.

The North Tonbridge Flower Arrangers will be holding their October 2018 meeting in The Medway Hall, The Angel Centre, Tonbridge.
The doors will be open from 7:00pm for a 7:30 start. This will be one of our best evenings yet as Jacqui Arnold, a NAFAS National demonstrator, is our flower demonstrator for the evening. She is a hugely popular flower demonstrator who has been awarded two Chelsea Flower Show Gold medals, the prestigious Chelsea in Bloom People's Choice Award and another year, a Gold Award. Coming early will also give you the opportunity to buy those essential raffle tickets, so you have a chance to win, and take home, one of Jacqui's fantastic arrangements to the envy of all your friends and family. Don't forget, too, that there will be a well-stocked sales table - Christmas is coming and there will be plenty of Christmassy floristry items waiting to be snatched up whilst enjoying a delicious piece of cake, drinking a refreshing cup of tea or coffee and chatting and catching up with friends, new or not so new!
Visitors are very welcome and we are very friendly. The entrance fee is only £9.00 - a truly great price for a fantastic evening of entertainment!

Sunday 28th October
The Hardy Plant Society are at Headcorn Village Hall from 2.30 pm for a talk called "Plants that grow in Dirt" with Bob Brown, renowned nursery- and plantsman, with strong and uncompromisingly expressed opinions about what constitutes a good plant, which makes for very entertaining lectures!

Bob's nursery Cotswold Garden Flowers, stocks a huge range of rare and unusual plants as well as old favourites.
Following Bob's talk there will be a special Tea to celebrate Kent Group's 30th Anniversary.
Visitors and new members very welcome.
