SUNDAY GARDENING EVENTS

MONDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER
Hythe Flower Club's next flower arranging demonstration is by Christina Payne , on Monday September 3rd . 7.0 for 7.30 at the United Reform Church in East Street . It is entitled "All the Time in the World" , and the arrangements will be raffled, guests are welcome.

Strettit Place Garden at East Peckham will be open 2.00pm - 5.00pm. Refreshments will be available. This beautiful garden has established borders, a pond full of wildlife as well as some comparatively new areas of planting. It is open in aid of SSAFA - the oldest tri service charity providing lifelong support for anyone who is currently serving or has served in the British Armed Forces. Entry is £5.00, children under 14 free. The post code for Strettit Place is TN12 5ER

The Guild of Church Flower Arrangers meet at St Mary's Church in Lenham from 7.30 for a talk by Fiona Chapman on Autumn Fall.

TUESDAY 4th September
Beltinge Garden Society will be holding their Autumn Show. There are many different classes and they need as many entries as possible after this very dry summer. It's at Beltinge Village Hall and opens at 6.30pm.

Acol Horticultural Society welcome Tom Hart-Dyke for a talk on 'The World Garden at Lullingstone Castle'. The meeting is at Acol Village Hall starting at 7.30 pm.
Anyone is welcome. Members are free, Non Members £3. Includes tea/coffee and biscuits.

Nigel Gibson gives advice on choosing Grasses and late Perenials for the garden at Otford Gardeners Society - it's at 8pm in Otford Village Hall.

WEDNESDAY 5th SEPTEMBER
There's a demonstration for Shadoxhurst Flower Club by Mig Kimpton called 'In the Autumn Potting Shed' and a Competition 'An arrangement using a garden tool'.
Shadoxhurst Flower Club meet on the first Wednesday of each month, 7:30pm at Shadoxhurst Village Hall, TN26 1HT

The Hawkinge and District Gardeners Society will be holding their meeting at 7-30pm. Brian Nobbs from the RSPB is the speaker and his subject is Gardening for Wildlife. All members and visitors are very welcome.

St. Dunstans Horticultural Society welcome speaker Alison Marsden for "Right Plant Right Place". Meeting starts at 7.45pm at ARCA Hall Thanington.

Hoath and District Gardening Society welcome Janine Doulton to their meeting to talk about growing and showing daffodils. As we embark upon the season for purchasing and planting our Spring bulbs, this should be a very relevant presentation. The meeting commences at 7.30pm at The Village Hall, Hoath. CT3 4LA. Everyone's welcome to attend.

THURSDAY 6th SEPTEMBER
Kathrine Lynn will give a talk to Kilndown Gardening Club on Thursday September 6 at 7.45pm in the Quarry Centre.
The title of her talk is How to Love Weeds. Visitors welcome, paying £2 at the door.

Istead Rise Gardeners Club have Alison Marsden talking about 'More Garden impact For Less Effort' - It's from 7pm at The Memorial Hall on Lewis Road.

Allington Garden Club have a talk on roses by Christine Bartlett - theymeet between 7.30 and 9.30 in St Nicholas Church Hall in Allington.

SATURDAY 8th SEPTEMBER
Meopham Gardeners' hold their Autumn Show at Meopham Village Hall, Wrotham Road, DA13 0AT - the doors open at 3pm and admission is free. There will be flowers, fruit and vegetables, floral arrangements, cookery and junior classes, and for the first time this year a photographic exhibition. Also, plant sales, raffle prizes and a tea room serving homemade cakes and refreshments.

St. Dunstans Horticultural Society Annual Show is in ARCA Hall Thanington from 1pm. Come along and look at what people have grown and made. Refreshments and Cake available for everyone to eat drink and chat even if you haven't entered.

Hoath and District Gardening Society stage their Autumn Show at 2.30pm at The Village Hall, Hoath. CT3 4LA. Notification of entries to Mr Tony Russell on 01227 860779 by Thursday, 6th September. Staging of exhibits between 8.30 and 10.45 am on 8th September.

It's the Minster & Monkton Horticultural Society Autumn Show between 2 and 4.30pm at the Village Hall at Minster in Thanet.
