SUNDAY 22nd April
The Hardy Plant Society meet at 2.30pm for a talk with Kevin Hughes, who owns a specialist nursery.
Kevin grows rare and unusual trees, shrubs, like magnolia's, viburnums, lilacs and plants like trilliums and shade lovers, plus plants for wildlife interest.
There's a seedling swap of a huge range of plants, plant sales and display, books for sale, garden sundries and Teas.
Guests welcome at £5, members £3.
Directions: TN27 8NF, Smarden lies due west of Ashford on Chessenden Lane, just off the High Street at the eastern end of the village.

The Witchazel Nursery in Newington holds an open day this Sunday and next to see their flowering cherries and Amelanchier's which should still be in flower
It's open 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. £5 entrance, guided tours, drinks, home made cakes, proceeds to Demelza House.

The Plant Fair Roadshow rolls into Hall Place and Gardens on Bourne Road, Bexley from 10 until 3. Admission is free and you can buy a mouthwatering array of rare and unusual plants for your garden.

The Bluebell Festival is underway at Hole Park Gardens near Rolvenden and runs until the 3rd May. It's one of the best places in Britain to see Bluebells on a circular walk through woodlands and over streams. Admission is £7.50 for adults and £1 for children between 11 and 6.

MONDAY 23rd APRIL
Dover and Deal Flower Clubs invite you to a very special evening of flower arranging with national demonstrator Nick Grounds, who will be appearing at Whitfield Village Hall, Dover, CT16 3LY. Doors open at 6.30pm, with the demonstration beginning at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5.00 for club members and £9.00 for visitors/non-members, but the entry does include refreshments. There will be stalls selling plants, jewellery, accessories, preserves and pre-loved items. There will be two raffles on the night - one for the finished arrangements and a 'non-flower' raffle. All welcome.

The Island Greenfingers Club, next meeting is at 7.30pm at St.Peters Church Hall, Hopeville Avenue, St.Peters, BROADSTAIRS.

TUESDAY 24th APRIL
Strood Gardening Club hold a talk by Vanessa Long on Growing Vegetables in Containers. They meet at 1.30 at Strood Working Men's Club on North Street.

WEDNESDAY 25th APRIL
Ightham & District Gardeners Club are having a talk on "All Things Nutty" by Alexander Hunt from Potash Farm.
It's at Ightham Village Hall at 7.30pm and visitors are very welcome.

THURSDAY 26th APRIL
Ash Horticultural Society meet in Ash Village Hall at 7.30 pm. The speaker is to be Mercy Morris on the subject of House Plants. They will also include a sale of members surplus plants to raise money for charity.
Visitors and potential new members always welcome.

Groombridge Horticultural Society have a coach trip to RHS Wisley - for more information search for the society online. All are welcome.

SATURDAY 28th APRIL
Woodnesborough Gardening Club hold their plant sale from 10am until noon at Vickers Nursery, Beacon Lane, Woodnesborough, near Sandwich CT13 0PB. They have bedding, tomato and vegetable plants for sale, as well as some perennials, so come along and bag a bargain.

Milstead and District Horticultural Society hold their annual Plant sale and Coffee morning in Milstead village hall (ME9 ORX) from 10am to midday. This will be a good time to meet fellow gardeners and to replenish plant stocks after the hard winter blasts, there will be one nursery stall and the rest are home grown.
