We turn the clock back to 1985, when castaway Phil Booth was 15 and used to hang around with a group of Mods and Scooter Boys at Cloud 9 in Manchester.

He says: "On Saturday afternoons we would go into Manchester to a club called Cloud 9. If my memory serves me well it used to be under Spin Inn Records. It鈥檚 no longer there but during the afternoon it used to play all the Mod, Soul and Psychobilly stuff we all wanted to hear.

Here鈥檚 a selection of stuff that used to get played (I鈥檓 sure stuff by The Jam and Style Council used to get played, but this place is where I first heard Northern Soul and I've loved it ever since."
