#mumtakeover: 'Youâre mostly at home and you canât go anywhere'
Young mums at a childrenâs drop in centre in Dewsbury told 5 live how theyâd been affected by the birth of their children.
âIt was difficult, especially when you have a child. Youâre mostly at home and you canât go anywhere, so you feel itâs already restricted â the amount of places you can go. You can get really lonely,â said Aimen.
âWhen youâre brought up in your own city, you get to know people even if you step out of your own house, but when youâre totally on your own itâs easy to fall into depression,â said the mum of one.
More than a third of mothers have experienced mental health issues related to parenthood, according to an online survey of 1,800 British parents by the ±«Óătv Radio 5 live and YouGov.
