Parent support groups are an âabsolute lifeline'
Having a child can be a daunting prospect for some people, but there parenting groups that can help with advice and support.
âA lot of our groups focus on the theme of looking after yourself and making time for you, which is something thatâs really difficult to do when youâve got young children,â said Ellie Thouret, one of the directors of the Cheshire Parents Collective.
âGroups like this are an absolute lifeline really. It can be a lonely time if you donât know anyone else with a small baby,â added mum of two, Donna.
âBecause I donât have any family that lives locally to meâŠmeeting other mums kind of fills that gap for you, like a little bit of emotional support,â said C.P.C. member and mum Kelly.
