Billy Vunipola on player welfare and pay cuts

Saracens and England number eight Billy Vunipola discusses player welfare and pay cuts.

The back rower withdrew from the Lions tour to New Zealand in May with a shoulder injury.

Vunipola said: "I didn't enjoy being on the surgery table twice in one year for the first time in my career, and that's supposed to be deemed as normal.

"We know it's tough out there, we do it for a living, but it also gets to a point where you have to look after yourself, not just in terms of financially but it's more your life, when you're done with rugby.

The back rower was speaking to Chris Jones and Ugo Monye prior to Saracens 41-13 win over Sale on Saturday.

Vunipola limped off during the match, it has since been confirmed that he will be out for four months with a knee cartilage injury.
