Susanne was only 12 when she boarded an aeroplane at Stockholm to begin her foreign exchange visit to the south coast of England.

Nicola's family hosted Susanne and the girls spent a very happy summer together in 1979 at Bexhill-on-Sea.

The girls have kept 'loosely' in touch over the years and when it came to meeting up back in Bexhill in 2016, they were both very nervous… and chose to capture the moment in front of the microphones in the Listening Project Booth!
