This is 'I Was There' - our weekly look back at an event in history through the eyes of those who were there. Over two nights, a quarter of a million people saw Oasis including a guestlist with 7,000 names on it. 2.6 million people apparently applied for tickets. It was the summer of Euro 96, Trainspotting and an infamous Tory poster campaign that gave the then opposition leader a set of demon's eyes.
