Robbie McIntosh was born in Johnstone in the west of Scotland. Music was part of his life from an early age and his career began in the 1980s, promoting bands such as Deacon Blue. In April 2013, that path eventually led him to Los Angeles where he is now responsible for Capitol Music's international division, dealing on a daily basis with Katy Perry, 5 Seconds of Summer, Rod Stewart, Sam Smith and Mary J Blige.
In addition to discussing why having a fantastic voice is sometimes not enough to guarantee success, he and Bryan reflect on the changes in the music industry over the years and how best to nurture emerging talent. Robbie also reveals why living in LA has finally turned him into a 'morning person'.
Robbie McIntosh may have scaled the heights, but it emerges he is often surprised at how far he's come in what he terms an 'incredible business'.
