How birds are invited to dine on pod borer caterpillars in Indian fields

In India, the pod borer insect Helicoverpa attacks some 150 crops. Dr GV Ranga Rao of ICRISAT in Hydrabad explains how to entice insectivorous birds like the drongo and egret to visit fields and eat the pod borer caterpillars. Plus three examples of appropriate technology designed for farmers in Bolivia: a see-saw water pump, a composting latrine, and a rope or rosary pump.
