Fonio or 'hunger rice' grows in very dry conditions but its tiny seed makes threshing and grinding hard work. A new machine invented by Sanoussi Diakité in Senegal could put the traditional cereal with its many health-giving properties back on Sub-Saharan menus. Plus, making beautiful soil in Malawi.
