Turkey's $30-billion Gap project
The Gap project will require the building of 22 dams and 19 hydroelectric power stations in south-east Turkey in order to use the waters from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers to irrigate nearly 2 million hectares of south-eastern Anatolia.
