Pigeon Pea: Star of the semi-arid Tropics
The versatile pigeon pea is grown for food, firewood and pest control in many cropping systems. It is subject of research at the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) in India. Another plant under investigation there is the striga weed.
