The Burden of Disease in Sub-Saharan Africa
Aflatoxin, produced by aspergillus fungus on grain, is a major cause of the sub-Saharan disease burden. This burden, reports the World Bank, creates human tragedy and prevents indiviuals achieving more than half their lifetime's productivity.
