Elizabeth McDonnell is the mother of one of six girls sold for sex by a gang of paedophiles in Oxford. She speaks to Chris Warburton about her book You Can’t Have My Daughter which charts her five-year battle to save her daughter from the gang of brutal predators who drugged her, beat her and sold her for sex.
Elizabeth speaks about how she would hang onto her daughter’s ankles to stop her leaving the house and would sing nursery rhymes to her daughter to soothe her when she eventually came home from being abused. She also says children will continue to be abused unless changes are made to how social workers are trained.
