Tobacco firms ordered to pay $15-billion to smokers in Quebec in landmark court case.

The Quebec Superior Court has ordered three big tobacco firms to pay $15 billion CAD to smokers in the province who claimed they were never warned about the health risks associated with smoking. Andre Picard from the Toronto Globe and Mail tells us there were around a million people involved in this historic class-action lawsuit.

We hear why a new 10 year plan to kick start the renewable energy industry is modelling itself on the Apollo mission to the moon. Lord Richard Layard of the London School of Economics tells us there is a dire shortfall in R&D funding for renewables.
