Downton writer lost work for supporting Tories

Oscar winner and Downton Abbey creator and writer, Julian Fellowes, says he lost work and was stopped from auditioning for one renowned theatre company because of his Conservative politics. "I think I've been pretty lucky, but yes I've had the odd person who wouldn't work with me because I was known to be a Tory." Lord Fellowes, a Conservative Peer admits it might have been more helpful if, at that time in his career, he had been a Labour supporter rather than a Tory one.
