The Koran teaches that people should 鈥渟ay peace and walk away鈥� if they are offended, a British Muslim teacher has said.

Khola Hasan said 鈥渞adical narrative鈥� was being promoted above peaceful views from Islamic theologians and the message of the Koran.

British Syrian, Talha Ghannam, and lawyer, Ishtaq Hussein, said the death of French Muslim policeman, Ahmed Merabet, showed Muslims were not afraid to protect people who offended them.

Mr Merabet, who was Muslim, was one of 17 people who lost their lives during three days of terror in Paris, following the shootings at the offices of satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo.

Mr Hussein said Merabet, 鈥渆xemplified鈥� the French philosopher Voltaire鈥檚 message - 鈥淚 may not agree with what you have to say, but I will give my life for the right for you to say it.鈥�
